PSYC 36B: Adolescence and the Transition to MaturityInstructor: Sarah Lupis Prerequisites: PSYC 10a Course Description: This course provides a broad overview of theoretical paradigms and issues particularly pertinent to adolescence and young adulthood. Topics covered will include the broadly defined content domains of identity, cultural and social class influences, gender differences, family relationships, peers and friendships, dating and romantic relationships, sexuality, school, work, health and coping, and psychosocial problems and stressors. We will be using lectures, discussions, films, writings, and experiential exercises as the primary vehicles for learning in this course. Critical examination and applications of material will be encouraged.</br></br>This course would be ideal for those who want to work with transitional-age youth including teachers, coaches, and non-profit organizations.
