Through a combination of lecture and shared reflection of the internship experiences, students will develop critical awareness of the gap between the actual legal process and theoretical or popular descriptions, practice professional skills related to advocacy and client service, identify the complex roles of the legal advocate, and distinguish legal perspectives from other relevant concerns. Students will increase oral and written facility in expressing arguments under legal constraints, evaluating and understanding legal principles and source materials, and clearly communicating legal principles and arguments. Students will develop networking and self-advocacy skills required to prepare for the job market. Finally, students will pursue greater understanding of the challenges of reaching justice through the legal system, evaluate pathways for legal and policy change, and gain insight into the varied professional opportunities in the legal field.</br>
