    Course Description: How do power, culture, and institutions shape our everyday lives? SOC 10B: Sociological Theory, dives into the foundational ideas of classical thinkers like Karl Marx, as well as contemporary theorists who challenge and expand their work like Angela Davis.</br></br>This course will apply theory to real-world events, from social movements and political upheavals to digital surveillance and economic crises. Through discussions, we’ll explore how power operates in society and how people resist, negotiate, and transform society.</br></br>Designed for sociology majors and any student eager to understand forces that shape our world. Whether fulfilling a major requirement or simply want to sharpen your sociological imagination, SOC 10B will change the way you see the world.
