    Course Description: Introduces students to key terms and debate in the field of transgender studies, while critically interrogating how ideologies of race, class, gender, and sexuality have informed the category's rapid institutionalization. Students will read scholarly articles and engage public scholarship, fiction, creative nonfiction, and film/TV; engage in reflective writing in response to these materials; and produce a guide to transgender studies that applies this information to a broader public audience.
