    ECON 80A: Microeconomic Theory

    Prerequisites: ECON 2a or ECON 10a. Students must earn C- or higher in MATH 10a, or otherwise satisfy the calculus requirement, to enroll in this course.
    Course Description: This course provides a framework for analyzing the behavior of individuals and firms and their interactions in different market environments. Students will explore core microeconomic topics, including consumer theory, producer theory, market structures, game theory, general equilibrium, and welfare analysis.

    Beyond theoretical models, students will apply these concepts to real-world scenarios, using case studies and policy discussions to examine economic behavior in practice. They will engage in problem-solving exercises and develop analytical tools to critically assess economic outcomes and strategic decision-making in various contexts.

    By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the skills to evaluate economic decisions and policies using formal economic reasoning. This course is ideal for students looking to strengthen their analytical abilities in microeconomics, whether for academic advancement or professional growth.
