    SOC 10B: Sociological Theory

    Course Description: May not be taken for credit by students who took SOC 100b in prior years.</br></br>Introduces students to the main ideas, practices, and purposes of sociological theory. Analyzes the major ideas of key theorists, ranging from Karl Marx to Patricia Hill Collins. Discusses the role that concepts play in sociological research. Explores how theory can not only be used for explanation and interpretation, but also for changing the world.
