    ECON 82B: Macroeconomic Theory

    Prerequisites: ECON 20a. Students must earn a C- or higher in MATH 10a, or otherwise satisfy the calculus requirement, to enroll in this course.
    Course Description: This course provides an introduction to macroeconomic theory. It is intended to develop models to study key variables such as output, unemployment, inflation, interest rates and exchange rates, among other. A general distinction between the short run and the long run will be made. In this course, we will develop models for understanding economic growth, unemployment, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates in the long run and the short run. The course will also focus on the role of government policies designed to promote economic growth in the long run and limit the impact of business cycle fluctuations in the short run.
